Peshawar, February 12,2025 — Ahsan Ayaz, a distinguished squash player from Peshawar, was honoured with the prestigious Pride of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Award during the sixth edition of the Metrix Pakistan Youth Summit, held earlier this year in the provincial capital.
At 25 years old, Ayaz stands as a shining symbol of sporting excellence, having represented Pakistan in over 30 countries and earned accolades at both national and international levels. Among his most notable achievements is his contribution to Pakistan’s historic victory at the World Junior Team Championship in Poland — a title reclaimed after an eight-year gap.
Currently ranked 87th in the Professional Squash Association (PSA) world rankings, Ayaz holds the position of Pakistan’s number one player. His international career highlights include winning the Malaysian Tour IV in Malaysia, securing a silver medal at the Finnish Open Squash Championship, and earning fourteen bronze medals in PSA events across multiple countries.
The Pride of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Awards are the province’s highest civilian honours presented to exceptional individuals for their outstanding contributions in various fields. These awards were presented in collaboration with the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Directorate of Youth Affairs, reflecting a strong commitment to celebrating the province's talent and inspiring the next generation.
Beyond his success on the court, Ayaz is also recognised for his philanthropic efforts. He supports patients suffering from liver and kidney diseases and works to empower underprivileged youth. As a social media influencer, he speaks openly about mental health and the importance of sports promotion in Pakistan.
A US Squash Level 3 certified coach, Ayaz is currently based in Houston, United States. His academic journey includes an MBA in Project Management from Ascencia Business School (UAE) and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Peshawar.
Ahsan Ayaz continues to bring honour to Pakistan — not just as a sportsman, but as a humanitarian and role model for youth across the country.
